FIRST® LEGO® League Challenge
When students participate in hands-on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) experiences, they build confidence, deepen their knowledge, and develop effective learning habits. When adults coach these students, they encourage them to try, fail, and try again, while connecting STEM concepts to real-world examples.
FIRST® LEGO® League is the most accessible and guided international robotics competition, helping students and teachers build a better future together. The program is structured around themed challenges designed to engage children aged 9 to 16 in research, problem-solving, coding, and engineering. The program is based on the core FIRST® values, which emphasize teamwork, discovery, and innovation. Students emerge more confident, excited, and equipped with the skills they need in a growing workforce.

THE COMPETITION GAMES
La FIRST® LEGO® League Explore est conçue pour les enfants de l'école élémentaire âgés de 6 à 10 ans. Chaque année, les élèves, en équipe ou en classe entière, se plongent dans un sujet passionnant lié aux sciences et aux technologies. Tout au long de l'aventure, ils explorent de manière ludique le monde de la programmation à l'aide d'un kit de robotique LEGO® Education et construisent un modèle LEGO motorisé.
L'accent est mis sur les Valeurs Fondamentales FIRST, qui encouragent le respect mutuel, le partage d'expériences et l'esprit critique.
À la fin de la saison, les équipes et les classes présentent leurs résultats lors d'une exposition régionale, échangent des idées et partagent de grands moments de complicité et de divertissement!

Model
The teams build a motorized model inspired by what they have learned using LEGO bricks and the LEGO Education Spike Essential kit.
Post
The teams create a poster that illustrates their discovery journey, explains their project, and introduces their team.
Fundamental values
By embracing these unique program values, participants learn that mutual support is the foundation of teamwork. We expect all participants, young and old, to respect and uphold these core values in everything they do.
THE COMPETITION GAMES
Step 1:
Form a team
- 2 to 6 children
- 1 adult coach
- 1 meeting room
- 1 to 2 tablets with Bluetooth 4.0
Step 2:
Make sure you have the robotics kit
- Reusable kit
- You have the choice between the LEGO Education SPIKE Essential or WeDo 2.0 kits
Step 3:
Register your team to receive the season's equipment
- 1 Season-specific Explore Kit
- Meeting guide for the coach (digital format)
- Engineer's logbook (digital format)
Step 4:
Follow the meeting guide to coach the team

- 12 guided sessions to prepare a model that illustrates the team's solution to a problem related to the year's theme
Step 5:
Participate in an exhibition
- Find out about events near you
- Register for an event (additional fees apply)
- Organize your team's travel to the event
